27 Jul 09 ~ You think this is cute?

Well, wait till you see the one Aunty Doris bought me, then! Por Por Kim walked into our house that day and gave me a really cute, furry, colorful many-legged thing that makes a different sound for every leg that you squeeze! She said it was - well, she used a pretty chim name - i think she said it was an Octopus. My aunties and uncles were quite amused by it, probably more so than I was. But I'll try to get a pic of it up when I can, for yal to see.

Anyway yeahh, that day was quite embarrassing for me. My cousin Daniel hadn't seen me for awhile, since he'd gone back to KL to stay for the last few months. So that day, when Mummy and I stepped into Por Por Susan's house, the first thing he yelled when he saw me was, "Avril!!! What happened to YOU??? How come you're so fat!" My face would have gotten red if it wasn't already so.

Anyway, after we got back from KL, Mummy and Daddy brought me for the regular checkup at the doctor's, to make sure I'm growing as a normal three-month-old baby would. So the people in white uniforms checked my weight, and height, and all those kind of stuff. Mummy was waiting to hear what my weight would be, because she kept commenting that I was getting pretty heavy to carry. Well ok, not just Mummy was saying that - so was every other person who tried carrying me, too. But the point is, when they finally announced what my weight was, Daddy and Mummy were not surprised at all. Just... amazed, I guess. Mummy sms-ed Por Por Kim and told her, "Avril is 6.8kg!" And everyone kept saying, "No wonder!"

I was like, "Thanks, guys...."

I suddenly feel like the world is getting bigger and bigger, though...not just me getting bigger. There's like SO many things to see everytime I go out! Whether it's the shopping centre, or the park, or the hawker centre... so many sights, smells, sounds... sometimes I feel a little overwhelmed and will get just a tad fussy. Just a tad. But Mummy and Daddy will carry me, and hold me close, and then I'll feel better.

We celebrated Gong Gong Josh's birthday last night! Went to IKEA to eat..Shu shu Tom carried me from the car to the restaurant then gave me up to the rest to take turns to carry. I guess I should start learning to walk soon, since I don't like sitting in the stroller. He took some pics and showed them to me too.

And tonight some of us are going to meet up for another birthday dinner for him! I'm looking forward to it:)

19 Jul 09 - Rambles

Hello from KL!

Me is dropping in to do a quick post from Por Por Susan's house. So many things happened these last few days! I have been waiting to upload some of the videos and peektures that Mummy and I have taken together in the past two weeks, but they are not with me now, so I can't. :(

Oh, I got my verii veri first haircut!!! And it was done while I was sleeping, so I didn't even know! So scary. Avril, try not to be such a heavy sleeper ok. Wait next time you sleep and wake up and find some more things missing! Mummy told me that the hairdresser was so worried also, because it was the first time that she was cutting a baby's hair. So everytime I moved in my sleep, she jumped back so startledly. Wait till you see the video..you will know just what I mean.

The other day I went for a walk with Mummy and Por Por Kim at the little park right outside the house. There was so much color and movement and action to see! Green grass, cars whizzing by, dogs gathered with their masters in a corner, and boys playing soccer in the field..I had to keep looking here and there so that I won't miss anything. Shu shu Ben was one of those playing, and he plays weallly well - he even scored several goals!

Then when we got back to Por Por Kim's house, Mummy passed me to Gu-gu Em to take over. She put me facedown on her shoulder. It was a comfortable position. So I took a short nap and woke up just a few minutes before dinner. Then we all sat down to eat together. I sat on Mummy's lap because I'm too short to sit on a chair by myself. I didn't make any fuss, or cry, or spill anything throughout the entire dinner - Mummy and Daddy were soo proud of me.

And I'm still a little sore from the booster jab I got the other day. That same awful doctor stuck ANOTHER needle into me even after I said so loudly last time that I didn't want to get an injection, ever again. Sheez. Mummy kept trying to explain to me that it was for my own good, to protect me against deesease and stuff. But, I mean, if it's good for me, then why does it hurt so bad? That I don't understand.

Humm, Mummy is calling me. We are leaving to head back home to Singapore already... gotta go!

4 Jul 09 - Mummy, look! I'm only two months old and I appear in the papers already!!

I was wondering why Daddy, Mummy, and all my aunties and uncles were so happy the other day when they got home from work. As each person stepped in through the door, the rest who were already home would ask him or her in a chorus, "Have you seen it??"

It was quite funny to see them poring over a single newspaper article from the zao bao, or Chinese newspaper for two reasons. Firstly, they NEVER read chinese newspapers. And secondly, why should a simple piece of paper - a cheap, recycled one, at that - excite them so much?

Then my Gu Gu showed it to me and I was stunned.

Who took my picture and posted it in the newspaper??? GOLLY. Talk about people's privacy, people. You mean I can't even take a stroll in the park in my rompers without someone taking photo of me and putting it in the news? Oh wellz. But Mummy and Daddy look quite happy with it so I guess it must be ok. And the picture above my one is of Daddy and my gu-gus and shu-shus, all blading together. It's some contraption of a boot on wheels, but they do go pretty fast. I like it best when Daddy carries me and glides around though.. feels like I'm flying!

Anyway, after dinner, I played with Gu-Jie Kim on the bed..
It was fun!
A special smile for Gu-gu Em who was taking pics of us..
By the end of our games session, I was famished. Finally some dinner! NOW we're talking...
Burping Session...This is what you call Mummy-and-kid-bonding-time.
I didn't manage to last half-way through it, though..so Mummy laid me down on Por Por Kim's giganticulous bed to sleep some more.
Zonked out with the whole bed to myself!
After I don't know how long, I slowly regained consciousness and opened my eyes to see 3 beaming faces leaning over me and cooing. Mummy, Gu-Jie Kim, and Gu-gu Em were so happy I was finally awake again so that we could play together!
Ta-da! Back on my feet again...

Mummy is worried that I'm trying to skip the Crawling Stage to go straight to the Walking Stage. Ok, Mummy, I'll try to take things slow. But it does seem like a waste of time to crawl if you can start walking immediately right??

More next time... I want my supper!

26 June 09 - Happie Father's Dae! (belated)

We celebrated Daddy's first Father's Dae on Sunday!

He was sooo proud and happy.

We went out for family dinner in the evening, together with the rest of the aunts and uncles and Por Por Kim and Gong Gong Josh. Daddy pushed me around in the stroller at Plaza Sing while Mummy shopped.

They decided on dinner at the Crystal Jade Kitchen because they said the noodles there are good. It's not fair that they go to such nice places to eat when I can't join them in enjoying the food!:( But the milk Mummy fixes always tastes yummy too, so I shan't complain.

I wasn't sleepy that evening, for some weird reason. Everything around looked so interesting..brite lights, delicious smells, intriguing colors, myriads of sounds...Gu Gu Em brought me to see her scrapbooking friends from Made With Love, and I also got a tour of the Espirit shop while Daddy was helping Shu Shu David choose some new clothes. I played with the mirrors during the waiting time, to keep myself and my aunts entertained.

Too bad Gu Gu Em forgot to take out her camera, though, so I've got no new pics to upload at the moment.. Haiz.. life is so short, she shouldn't leave the camera snoozing in her bag and let precious moments slip by just like that! Owellz... more pics in my next post, then.

Bedtime already! Mummy and Daddy is trying to get me to be dood and go to bed by 10PM every night. They are always shushing the aunts and uncles when they come over in the evenings. I think they're afraid that I'll be startled from my sleep by sudden loud guffaws and stuff, especially when the outlaws are seeing diving pictures just outside our bedroom. I don't know what's so funny about the pics, but they always seem to have fun when they're together. Can't wait till I'm old enough to be included in their talks and mealtimes!

Good nite, everyone, and sweet dreams...

17 Jun 09 - Upon Daddy's Return

I missed Daddy so much, this last weekend! He was on a diving trip, and it was one of the rare times that he was away from Mummy and I for more than a day. You bet I was thrilled when he got back.

Mummy brought me to pick him up from the dive centre when he reached back to Singapore, even though initially I was feeling a bit tired and fussy. But once our car pulled up beside him, I forgot to fuss anymore.
The next thing I knew, I was in his big comforting arms and he was cuddling me and telling me how much he'd missed me and Mummy. Gu Gu Em told me that Daddy kept talking about me and Mummy and wondering how we were doing, all that. I feel so loved. =>
He insisted on feeding me my milk too, although he was actually very tired.
New booties which one of Mummy's friends gave me!

I'm so glad Daddy's finally and safely home:)

16 Jun 09 - Dinner at Por Por Kim's home!

BOO!!!

It's been awhile since I updated last... Have been going over to Por Por Kim's place during the day time for several days in a week coz Mummy has to help Daddy with some work in office. Just thought to post a few snapshots of the other night when Mummy and Daddy came over to fetch me and eat dinner with the rest of the outlaws - i mean, in-laws.

Have I mentioned about my pink rocker? It's my favorite seat in the whole house! Basically, it has a very simple design of pink netting stretched over metal sticks that are curved at an angle, so that the whole seat moves when I'm bouncing around. VERY handy, especially when Por Por Kim's arms are aching from carrying me almost the entire day...

Here I am, strapped in by another pink lining...which by the way, always comes out whenever I am practicing my taekuando/aikido/whatever-do stunts, and leaves me sliding down down down until someone comes along and rights me.
The yellow dangling stand in the corner dangles some of my toys in front of me, irritatingly out of reach although I've tried to box them several times. I need to grow just a BIT bigger, then I'll be able to hit them properly! (Golly...in this pic, I look like a doll next to Gu Jie Kim le...am I really that small??)
I was so glad to see Mummy after her long day at work! She looked really pretty in her black dress =>
Here I am again, trying out a PowerPuff Gal's move...

Mummy likes to put me in front of a mirror and say funny things until I crack up. It's kinda funny to see a little ger smiling back at me every time I laugh, though.. I wonder if she can catch Mummy's jokes too?

Oh, on the way home, Daddy let me sit on his lap while he was driving!!!! It was one thrill ride. I was so happy, and could see all the cars whizzing by, and the red lights, and everything. I have the coolest parents in the world. :)

8 June 09 :: Escapade to Mummy's hometown!

I just reached home yesterday night after spending the whole of last week in KL! Our whole family went back to Mummy’s hometown to visit with family and friends.

It was the longest car ride I’ve ever had – 4 hours non-stop driving. Daddy said I was a good girl because I didn’t fuss a lot in the car. It was quite simple, really. I just alternated between sleeping and eating. Not to mention Daddy was playing my favorite songs by MLTR and Jason Mraz. It’s a very good way to pass the time.

Anywayz, while up there, Mummy brought me to meet my aunts and Por Por Kim on one of the days. They were there in KL too, for some reason. So we went to Midvalley and did what all girls do when they are together – Shop and Eat! I was actually feeling warm and comfy in the car, so entering the cold shopping centre was like suddenly opening a fridge! Brrrrr. It kinda startled me out of my slumber. Mummy put me in the stroller to keep me warm until I fully woke up, and then it was play time!Gu Jie Kim pampered me with lots of huggles.
Here I am, wearing pink and fresh green...( My aunties felt I looked very adorable in this position)She brought me on a tour of the shopping mall as we walked around...

Then Mummy and the rest decided to eat some yummy yoghurt desserts! She and Gu Jie Kim had fun taking pics of themselves.
Again.. (they scared me for a moment)And again… acting cute!! Por Por Kim and Gong Gong Josh sat at their own couple’s table with the bucket seats or whatever you call them.
I was feeling quite fussy, but Gu Gu Em walked around with me and sang some songs that she made up on her own just to entertain me. It was - entertaining. At some parts, I hummed along with her too, just to keep HER entertained.

There were once or twice when I was waving my arms around that my hairband fell down over my eyes, which the rest found very hilarious. I guess it must have looked kinda funny...

Oh, and and and, I've finally learned how to smile! It took some practicing, and several times my smile got stuck (if you know what I mean) when I forgot how to release my face muscles after smiling, but Mummy was very encouraging to laugh it off and not make me feel too embarrassed. Now I'm practicing lifting my eyebrows too, to look surprised when people say hi to me. ^_^

More next time, I need more sleep to recuperate from the long ride back home!~
