25 May 09 - My One-Month Celebration

I finally understand why Por Por Susan and Por Por Kim always talk about 'getting old.' My aunties and uncles can hardly believe that I'm already one and a half months old, and they keep exclaiming that I'm bigger every time they see me.

Last week, Mummy and Daddy threw a party just for me! They called it the One-Month Celebration. There were tons of eggs, people, and presents. In the morning before everyone came, I was actually so nervous that I cried the whole time. Mummy was getting pretty burnt out trying to do all the last minute preps in between taking care of me, but I only felt safe when someone was carrying me, so I refused to let her put me down.

Then a short while after lunch, gu-gus Kim and Em popped into the house, and gu-gu Em took over carrying me. She rocked me around and I finally dozed off, oblivious to the already arriving guests. When I finally woke up, it was to such a rackus!! There were strangers standing by my bedside, talking about my hair, scrutinizing the way I slept with my hand tucked under my head, and generally making lots of comments about me that normal adults do not make to other adults. It made me feel so...baby.

Gu-gu Em came in to the room and brought me out, telling me that the guests wanted to see the Princess of the Day. Mummy and Daddy were beaming with pride, and everyone wanted to carry me, from youngest to oldest..

Daddy's zerp zerp camera took lots of pictures, so here they are for your viewing. The painted red eggs and One-Month cake that is symbolic of I-don't-know-what for this celebration..
That's me! And that's my delicious-looking oreo cheese-cake which Mummy wouldn't allow me to eat.. *sniff*
Mummy, Daddy, and me! Can you see the glow on their faces? =>
Our family pic, framed up for everyone to see...
Mummy's piano is totally covered with presents for me - everyone was so thoughtful and generous!
The guests totally enjoyed the fellowship and the Food. (Spot my bottle?)
More yummy looking tarts..
Some of my friends who dropped by...Chloe, with her Mummy Wendy
Christina, Mummy's friend and ex-colleague, brought her son to visit me too!
Jie-jie Deborah was delighted to carry me even though I was just about knocked out from the formula.
The rest of the kids wanted to carry me too, but they're wayyy too young! We had some fun playing before I fell asleep, though.

Finally gone... it was a long, totally exhausting day, but I enjoyed it. It was fun seeing everyone and being in the spotlight for an afternoon!
