Jan 1 ~ Uncle Tom's Birthday Lunch!

So on Friday, the first day of 2010, Daddy and Mummy brought me over to our out-laws' place. I didn't know why we were going there until they explained that we were going to celebrate Uncle Tom's birthdae. Then I wondered why he was born on New Year's Day. And they told me that actualli his birthday was on 4th Jan, but we decided to hold the celebration on NYD instead since we were all together.

When we stepped into the house, there was this gi-gan-ti-cu-lous banner hanging out of nowhere, with some long, colorful, very grabbably-looking stuff hanging down at the side.
Daddy told me that those at the side were Balloons. And Uncle Thomas took one and put it around his neck to take a picture with the banner. He looked really happy and excited about something, and the family kept making comments about this super-duper long box on the table.

Then Uncle Tom went over to the box, reached in, and pulled and pulled and pulled...and out came this MASSIVE sandwich!!!

I'm not joking! It was sSssooOOooOoooooooOo long that I couldn't even measure it with my hands!
Then all of us scrunched together for a family pic. Gong Gong Josh picked up Nacho to join in the fun also.

Uncle Tom took up the bread knife and started slicing off huge chunks of the Cold Cut Trio sandwich.

Da-Gu Dave showed off the sandwich that took up more than half of his plate while Uncle Ben put whatever was left of his cookie beside to make the comparison greater.
Grandma Kim fed me my lunch too. The sandwich is about as big as my face... it definitely could not fit into my mouth!
The sandwich people gave some honnie Marsturd for the bread as well.
Even Mummy had trouble taking bites out from the huge sandwich!
Daddy said his piece was so huge, it was THAT heavy.
Da-Gu Kim was ready to tuck into hers.
Look at the size of Uncle Tom's one! Bigger than his big hands...
And then of course there were the pretty, yummy cookies as well.
We were all sitting around chatting over lunch but I dono how they ended up on top of each other.
Gu-gu Em caught a candid pic of me and said I look like a baby model. Whaddya think?(:
2 big candles + 4 small candles = 24 years old! Obviously I've been practicing my math sums.

Uncle Tom blew and blew on the candles but they refused to go out! Or rather, they would go out for a few seconds and smoke a little, then with a spark and flicker, they would light back on like magic!
Finally after he got the candles out of the pie of a birthdae cake, we got all the pieces of the Lemon Meringue Pie scooped out onto the red Tupperware plates that Grandma Kim is so proud of.
Bonding time with Da-Gu Dave. Don't we look happy?(:
But after a short while... the bonding time got abit too long for comfort. I tried to be nice, and subtle about it at first, so as not to hurt his feelings. Just a little struggling here and there, a hand to push away his face without being too rough about it...
But finally when it was to no avail, I lost patience and gave up. OK, SOMEONE ELSE PLEASE JUST TAKE ME!!!
Whew! Mummy to the rescue...

All in all (besides my slightly traumatic moment in Da-Gu Dave's arms), we had a good time.

And after that, Daddy and Mummy brought me to get my very own playpen!!! I'll post some pictures of it once I can. It is now officially My Favorite Corner of the house.

Hope you all had as good a New Year's Day as I did!(:
